4th Grade
We have an experienced and dedicated fourth grade team of teachers at Westside Academy II whose focus is always the children. Fourth graders at Westside are taught reading, mathematics, language arts, science and social studies every day. The state of Wisconsin is studied throughout the year. Fourth graders are exposed to technology and the Internet. They also start learning how to type and work on computers – lifelong skills necessary to succeed in high school and college.
5th Grade
In fifth grade, we are all about the LITERACY and English/ Language Arts in our classrooms! We also continue the math program from the fourth grade and make sure students know their basic math skills before moving to the upper grades. Fifth graders continue working on their typing skills in the technology lab, while completing more advanced assignments in software applications.
6th Grade
Ms. Hernandez and Mrs. Richmond are happy to be teaching 6th grade this year.
The sixth graders at Westside are transitioning to a middle school atmosphere. They switch rooms between classes for the first time – having specialized teachers for math, science and English. Sixth graders are required to write a research paper for the first time. They create a science project and must pass proficiencies in that subject. We have an exciting and rewarding experience for our sixth grade students.
7th Grade

Language Arts in seventh grade is a challenging time filled with grammar, writing and amazing ideas. Students are expected to make great gains in English because they bring their very best when they enter room 303. We believe seventh graders have the ability to excel and we do everything in our power to inspire them to be the best they can be. Math includes higher level skills and algebra. In science, the study of the human body is only one exciting and memorable unit of study for our seventh graders.
8th Grade

Eighth grade is the place to be at Westside Academy! Former students tell us how well-prepared they are to meet the challenges of their freshman year of high school. All academic areas are covered and we do other fun and unique things at this level. Our top students have the opportunity to earn high school credits in the morning and attend Westside classes in the afternoon. Eighth graders run our television studio – from writing the announcements to running the equipment. In the technology lab, they learn email, make movies and presentations and become masters of the internet and see the information it can provide. Westside’s eighth graders always excel when they leave us for the wonderful world of high school!
