2015-2016 Schools of Recognition Award
For the second year in a row, the State of Wisconsin honors the success of our school by presenting Wedgewood the Wisconsin Title I Schools of Recognition Award. This award identifies Wedgewood as a school that is “beating the odds” by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
Wedgewood Park International School
Principal Suzanne Purpero and the staff at Wedgewood Park International School are passionate about providing their students with a high-achieving learning environment. Wedgewood Park International holds the honor of being the first school in the State of Wisconsin to be authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization to offer the Middle Years Programme. The Wedgewood student body is comprised of approximately 960 English and Bilingual students at the 6th, 7th and 8th grade levels.
Wedgewood’s commitment to providing a comprehensive education is evidenced in the wide variety of course offerings it provides for it’s students. In addition to it’s academic program, students benefit from a strong fine-arts and technology program: 2 Visual Art classes, 3 Design/Technology classes, Spanish, Advanced Spanish, Band, Orchestra and Physical Education are courses from which students will benefit.
In addition, Wedgewood’s programming offers an enrichment block that provides additional support for those students working toward proficiency in Math and Reading, as well as advanced offerings for those students who are functioning at grade level. Advanced Science, Art, Design, Writing, and Math courses are all offered during this enrichment block. The advanced Math offering affords students the option of obtaining high school credit for algebra.
