2.Wisconsin Challenge Academy staff will be holding a presentation to explain their program on March 28th at 1:00. Challenge Academy is an option for students who are at least 16 years old, significantly credit deficient and unable to graduate on time. The residential program offers an opportunity for individuals to work towards earning a High School Equivalency Diploma in less than 6 months. If you would like more information, please see Ms. LaPlante in Room 130B.
3.Greetings Rufus King, Have you been feeling stressed out? Does Spring Break feel like a life time away? If so, please considering joining the Real Life Discussion Group Wednesday, March 29th from 3:00-4:00 pm in Room 308. Mr. Major Cooper from MATC’s student health services will be here to help us think and learn about stress and depression. All members of the Rufus King community are welcome to attend. 4.The Rufus King Soccer Team is dedicating April 18th’s Soccer Game to the Memory of Mya and Marisol. Come show you school spirit by buying a t-shirt to wear to the game. For more information see Alicia Slade or Tori Carver.
5.Seniors Hanette Kamanda and Gloria Esquivel are selling bracelets to fund raise money for the Flint Michigan water crisis. Bracelets are only $1 and all proceeds are going to community foundation of greater Flint. See Hanette or Gloria to buy a bracelet.
6.Your Rufus King FIRST robotics team, Team 1675, came from behind in tournament play this weekend to win the Wisconsin Regional Robotics Competition. 54 high school robotics teams from all over the nation were in the competition. Our win entitles us to compete in the world championships at the end of April. Please congratulate the robotics team members for a job well done.
7.Do you have an audition coming up? Are you confident when speaking in public? If so, join Braylen Stevens and Nia Wooten for a Theatrical Workshop: Downs and Out. They will provide you with public speaking and audition tips. The workshop will be held Tuesday, March 28th from 3-5 in room 104. You don’t want to miss it!
8.Attention!! All prom appeal letters are due to Ms. Carrington no later than this Wednesday, March 29th at 3:30pm. If you were suspended during this semester and you are planning to attend prom you must submit an appeal letter and get it approved before you can buy tickets.
