1.There is STILL TIME to turn in your Personal Project Expo permission forms. Please give them to Ms. Schilling in room 302 ASAP. Also, be sure you meet with your advisors before Thursday to present your product to them.
2.Rufus King students, please join us at the next meeting of the RKHS ACE Coalition on Tuesday, March 7th in Room 210 from 3:00-4:30pm. In response to recent political events, we will be holding a community brainstorm and strategy session on what we can do to protect and support transgender and gender-nonconforming students at our school, and throughout MPS. Come with an open mind, and be ready to create positive change! See you then!

I’m sure you are gonna hop on the fan bus and come up to Green bay to cheer and support but you may not have any RK Basketball gear…well GUESS WHAT…Mrs. A has plenty of shirts and hoodies left over from the Pink Basketball games this year so go to room 112, the little theatre, by FRIDAY to get your gear! 10 dollar t-shirts, 15 dollar long sleeves and 25 dollar hoodies! 7.Greetings Rufus King, The Real Life discussion group will meet this Wednesday in Room 308 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Please see Travis Bailey or Ms. O’KB with any questions or concerns. All members of the Rufus King community are welcome to attend this group.
8.Rufus King is collecting Box Tops for Education through April 15th. Remind your family to cut out Box Tops, place them in an envelope with your name and grade, and drop them in a collection box in the Attendance office or Main office. The Interact – Key Club will tally the number collected by each family and the winner will get a $25 gift certificate to the restaurant of their choice. Rufus King staff is also eligible for this contest! Start saving!
9.READY Club will have an important meeting this Thursday after school in room 205. READY Club members, there will be a representative from the American Red Cross at the meeting to talk with us about the Spring Blood Drive, so please make sure you get to the meeting, or see Mr. Dupies and let him know if you can’t make it. This is an important meeting READY Club members to be at this Thursday. READY Club – Tomorrow’s leaders in Emergency preparedness.
10.Congratulations to Rufus King’s Academic Decathlon team lead by captain Brenden Obrien, for a 5th place finish in Division 1 at the State Tournament this past weekend. Scoring was lead by Jacob Heubner finishing first overall in the state, with the top score on the Science test, and second place finishes in Music, Art, and Mathematics. Zari Ellzey earned a gold medal with her first place speech, and Andre Quarino gave a perfect “super quiz”. Carlos Garcia, Simone Wright, Haja Goggans, Corwind Burton, and Lee Johnston, used their “General” knowledge to help the team succeed. Congratulations and good luck next season!
11.Dance battles! Swordfights! Dragons! Flannel? Tickets are now on sale for the spring play, She Kills Monsters. The play will be held Friday, March 24th at 7:30pm and Saturday, March 25th at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $3 for staff and students and $6 for adults.
