Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts promotes PBIS. These are Responsible, Respectful and Safe behaviors demonstrated by students throughout their day.
As a class, students are able to earn tokens for their classroom from any staff member throughout the day for positive behavior (such as quiet hallway lines and classroom participation), attendance, and no tardies. These tokens are displayed outside of each classroom on a poster. Classrooms that meet their monthly goals get to enjoy rewards such as an extra recess or a popcorn party!
Parkside Perks: Parkside Perks can be earned by individual students for behavior that is overall Responsible, Respectful and Safe. Parkside Perks are cards with the student’s name and positive behavior recorded that are then turned in for weekly Friday raffle prizes.
PBIS Student of the Week: Teachers nominate one student per grade level for PBIS Student of the Week. These students have their photo displayed in the main hallway!
PBIS Student of the Month: Teachers nominate one student each calendar month as their PBIS Student of the Month. These students attend a party in the Bird’s Nest and have ther photo displayed outside of their classroom!
These students were chosen for displaying safe, respectful and responsible behaviors. They have been leaders in their classroom and try their best!
On behalf of Milwaukee Parkside School for the Arts Administration and Faculty, we APPLAUD you for your efforts. You are classroom ROLE MODELS. Keep up the GREAT work!
