Families Need to Opt-In to Text Messages
The district is now utilizing the SchoolMessenger system to send text messages to the mobile phones of MPS families to keep everyone up-to-date with important information, safety alerts, school closing and more. MPS families will need to opt-in to continue to receive important district and school messages to their phone. Everyone will need to opt-in by sending a text message to 67587 with Y” or “Yes”. You can do this step with any mobile phone you would like to receive messages. For questions or assistance, please contact the Department of Communications and Marketing at 475-8274 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Internet Access for MPS Families:
An Internet connection will be required to be successful in virtual learning this fall. Many phone and television providers may be offering free or reduced-cost Internet plans for students. Contact your provider or view our Internet Resources for Families list (https://mps.milwaukee.k12.wi.us/en/ District/About-MPS/District-News/Covid-19-Updates/04-20-20-Internet-Resources-for-Families.htm).
If your family is unable to secure Internet access from a provider, the district does have Wi-Fi hotspots available to checkout. A district issued Wi-Fi hotspot can be used by multiple students in the same household. In order to request a Wi-Fi hotspot to use for virtual learning, please send an email to email@example.com . An email sent to this address will receive an automated reply with instructions on how to obtain the Wi-Fi hotspot. If you do not have access to email in order to make this request, please ask the Parkside office staff (414-294-1600) to complete this request on your behalf. Please contact Chad Meyer firstname.lastname@example.org or Lisa Chatman email@example.com for any assistance.
