The core curriculum of Milwaukee High School of the Arts focuses on the performing and visual arts: Creative Writing, Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Art. Every student is enrolled in at least two arts classes per semester making it the only school in Wisconsin to offer a rigorous arts education in conjunction with college prep academics.
Students are engaged daily with highly skilled and qualified arts faculty, and are offered unique and numerous opportunities to work with professionals and educators from around the nation through master classes, coaching, and live performance.
Milwaukee High School of the Arts has partnerships with many local organizations like the Skylight Opera Company, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, MATC, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, the Prometheus Trio, and MIAD, along with frequent visits from professional Artists, Musicians, and Dancers.
In their chosen major, MHSA Students explore the world by creating every day. They develop skills in collaboration, determination and dedication – to their work, their classmates, their journey.
