In the summer of 2011 MPS embarked on a comprehensive redesign of teacher evaluations. The need for the redesign is based on three pressing issues. First, the current evaluation is outdated and does not effectively support professional growth. Second, the School Improvement Grant mandated an evaluation model that included both teacher practices and students’ academic growth. Third, Senate Bill 461, which passed in April, 2012, legislated an Educator Effectiveness system for all Wisconsin, teachers and principals, to be implemented by the 2014-15 school year. https://mps.teachscape.com/mps/login
CLP (COMPREHENSIVE LITERACY PLAN)
The MPS Comprehensive Literacy Plan (CLP) was designed to be a plan of action to increase Pre-K-Grade 12 Reading and English Language Arts achievement. The implementation of the CLP will guide the development of consistent quality literacy instruction, assessment and professional development across the district. Many stakeholders participated in the development of the CLP including school and cross-division district level staff as well as community and university partners. For more info, please click here.
