Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible
That is the message for student behavior at MGIS.
As a parent, you may hear that your child was picked as the “Käferkind der Woche”–that is a high honor, indeed! The student that is picked for the week has shown safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors. They have their picture up on the classroom door and on the HUGE bulletin board by exit 3 (Kindergarten wing). They also and get a certificate (usually on Friday) and get to shake Dr. Brugger’s hand for a job well done.
Although the teachers also have their own reward system in the classrooms, there is also a school wide ticket reward system for kids “caught being good” outside the classroom. When they earn these special tickets, they can turn them in every two weeks at the ticket cart–the favorite treat to pick? Pickles.
We encourage parents to use the same language at home. Want to know more?
