Compliment to MGIS: I was nervous to enroll my oldest daughter in this school, mainly because of my lack of German knowledge. I am happy I didn’t allow that to discourage our decision to send her here. MGIS has an amazing staff! The test scores are fantastic and this is exciting because the children learn in strictly German till second grade and are tested in English. I don’t know how, but it works! I now have 2 children at MGIS and they are both THRIVING and excited to learn. The family involvement at MGIS is so great with a high participation rate for all of the school events. I can’t say enough positive things about MGIS.

Compliment to MGIS: With the new school year about to start I am once again reminded how fortunate we are to have both MGIS & Milwaukee School of Languages to send our children to. Our oldest son Ian (he will be a 7th grader at Milwaukee School of Languages this fall) just returned from spending 6 weeks in Germany this summer. Since the German school year doesn’t end until the end of July, he spent 3 weeks going to school. He had no problems following along and all of the German teachers & kids were really impressed with how well he spoke German and that we had a school like this. I can only thank all the wonderful teachers at MGIS & Milwaukee School of Languages, without you he would never had been able to do this.

Compliment to MGIS: Our kids spent 2, respectively 3 years at MGIS before we moved back to Switzerland this summer. They started school three weeks ago which is held in High German (which they only learned at MGIS). I asked my older son to compare his German with the rest of the class and he said he was much better at it (needless to say he is very proud). Both kids love to go, have no problems following the teacher or doing their homework. I am so happy I chose MGIS, it made an international move and settling in smooth sailing for our kids and therefore for all of us.

Compliment to MGIS: My son completed K4- Grade 5 at MGIS and now my daughter is in Grade 2. We love MGIS! The teachers are great! They are kind and caring and the school feels like home. The student test scores are simply amazing. The soar head and shoulders above MPS, State and National averages + the students are bilingual! The programs such as family Fun Night; KinderKino; Rollerskating Night; MultiCultural Night; Christmas Bazaar and others make the school year fun! The German School program (MGIS + MSL) are supported through the German Immersion Foundation. The Foundation has an annual fundraiser dinner and auction which is a great deal of fun for the parents and supporters of the language program. The language program is rigorous and not for everyone. Our neighbors children needed to change to another school as their son and daughter were struggling. This is one thing parents need to know going in – it takes a lot of parent involvement to help your children excel at MGIS. We have found that our language skills also improve. The school offers a basic parent language course for new parents and it helps. MGIS is another hidden jewel within MPS and has been a great success for over 25 years.
