About

WE NURTURE, EDUCATE, AND PREPARE FUTURE LEADERS!

James Madison Academic Campus (JMAC), located on the Northwest side of Milwaukee, is a comprehensive, community high school (Grades 9 through 12).

JMAC is a Community School participating in The Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership (MCSP) with the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties.  The MCSP is a collective strategy to transform schools into a place where students, families, staff, and the surrounding community can work together to ensure every student is successful.  Community Schools is a proven model to increase a school’s capacity to better engage and align partnerships centered on the self-identified, real-time priorities of schools and communities. Our strategy places the focus on the whole child by providing academic supports, social & emotional learning, health & wellness, family & community engagement, and a safe and supportive climate.

We offer a challenging curriculum with classes that include: AP English Literature, AP US History, AP World Geography, Honors English, Honors World History, and Restorative Practices.  We also utilize Springboard Curriculum for all English and Math courses.  Finally, we have our three National Academy Foundation (NAF) Academies that prepare students for futures in finance, health sciences or hospitality & tourism. Madison also offers alternative programs for students: GED Option #2 (GED-O2) and Competency Based Program.

In addition to classroom learning, Madison offers students a chance to participate competitively in athletics and a variety of clubs. Our student council as well as our Community School Youth Council (CSYC) governs many of the academic, emotional and social aspects of our school. These young leaders work within the community at JMAC, as well as the community at large, to create a positive school environment.

Under the leadership of our principal, Jineen McLemore Torres, the Madison community believes that by encouraging strong character, developing leadership, and building positive role models today, our graduates will enhance society tomorrow.
