I am nominating Ms. Pamela Slayden. I believe she is more than qualified for the next Madison Knight. I began working with Ms. Slayden four years ago and I have yet to see a more dedicated individual. She has an energy and focus for the betterment of all our children as students and citizens in the community. Many of our students look to Ms. Slayden for guidance and that compassionate ear that they may need at the time.
Ms. Slayden is a strong minded, intelligent, and thought provoking member of the Madison staff. She always insists that everything we do for our students is in the best interest of the students, as well as the staff. She believes that all teachers are professionals and that they should be treated as such. She acknowledges when changes should be made and believes that they should be implemented with dignity.
More important, Ms. Slayden is a team player. She will go “to bat” for her colleagues when necessary and is able to collaborate in a group situation. She is someone you can count on. She is honest, reliable, and fair. Her spontaneous nature and flexibility to look at an issue makes her a good problem solver. She does not achieve, she strives for the finest and the best and does so without pretension.
Based on my experiences with Ms. Slayden, I believe that she is an individual who could one day lead the district through our academic and community struggles from an administrative role. I believe that she will place all children at the center of every decision she makes and reinforces. Ms. Slayden demonstrates dedication, determination and knowledge that Madison will need to lead through challenging times and develop into a school of excellence that provides great services for all students.
Congratulations, Lady Knight Slayden!
