She comes early most days clocking in before 7 am and often staying late.
She gives her time to help other members of the staff in any way she can.
She finds countless ways to get her students to show her what they know, what they can do, and never loses faith in them.
She is a quiet present for her students that they know they can turn to when their world is falling apart and they need a trusted adult to help them – and she holds their hand while getting experts involved to help get information or develop a solution beyond her personal resources.
She answers her students’ questions even when she is off the clock – such as helping her GED students even in the waning hours of New Year’s Eve.
When administration needs help with testing, Learning Team, the community schools grant or NAF, she was one the administration knew they could depend on.
She came to us as our Literacy Coach and stayed even when things got rough.
She is our treasured ELA Department Chair and newest Madison Knight, Lady Knight Sharon Binon.
– In the words of Dr. Virginia Lynch, Math Teacher / Department Chair.
– Nominated by Ms. Maria Belanger-Seay, Data Processing & Records Secretary.
