Every building has that one “go to” person that always has answers or will get one for you. That person in our building is Ms. Hicks.
Ms. Hicks always has a smile and a cheery hello for staff and students. You would never know the pressure she is under, trying to find someone to sub a class, a staff member who needs a particular form immediately, and the phones ringing off the hook; all at the same time.
On that note, many people do not know Ms. Hicks has been a key person in the knighting ceremonies. Each knighting occurs during the school day where the knight’s peers, students, and possibly visitors of the building can witness the event. Each staff member, whether they are a teacher or support staff, has a job to do in a specific area of the school. Ms. Hicks has arranged for proper coverage to ensure that everyone necessary can be involved in every ceremony. The knightings could not be a success without her.
Ms. Hicks also has the most important job, payroll, if ever there is a problem, she always takes immediate action to get it corrected without saying “well it’s your fault, you didn’t hand in this or that.
But the most important reason Ms. Hicks is being knighted today is just to say “thank you” for the support you give to your JMAC family. You are motivated, you are appreciated, and you make JMAC a better place.
– In the words of Ms. Sharon Binon, English Teacher / Department Chair
