At Lowell, we believe that parents are children’s first educators.
Parents are always welcome at Lowell and are encouraged to be involved at Lowell in a variety of ways. We have many opportunities for meaningful parental engagement!
Attend Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent teacher conferences occur twice per year. This is the ideal opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in the classroom with his or her teacher. You may also wish to arrange for a special conference with your child’s teacher, make a phone call, send an email, or write a note to your child’s teacher.
Assist your child with homework
Your child’s teacher will communicate with you about the type of homework that is appropriate for your child. Be sure to provide a quiet time and place for homework.
Become a Parent Leader
Parent Teacher Organization
Lowell staff and families work together to plan exciting events at school, fundraisers, and more. Please consider joining Lowell’s PTO! See our parent coordinator for more information!
Families play a vital role in education. Parents are encouraged to work with teachers to decide on an appropriate time to visit their child’s classroom, discuss student progress and share ways to increase learning.
We have very active parent volunteers. We are always looking for more caring, motivated individuals to work with our students. Volunteers are a wonderful supplement to the educational experience of children in Milwaukee Public Schools.
If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the online application!
