Principal’s Message

Dear Families:

Welcome to H.W.  Longfellow bilingual community school. We want to thank you all for choosing Longfellow.

Longfellow has been recognized by the Wisconsin RTI center and Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a school that meets the needs of all students. This school year we will continue to focus on developing our students core academic skills through engaging lessons and purposeful partnerships.

Through the Green Schools Consortium grant we have been redeveloping our playground to support our students and our community. This plan includes opportunity for recreational play, the development of a new green house for our gardens and green space, arts education, and storm water management.

We will continue to partner with United Way (Community School Model), Children’s Hospital (School Nurse), Journey House (Recreational and educational programming), Hunger Task Force, Botanical Gardens, Arts @Large (Visiting artists), Safe and Sound, Ernst Young, and Reading Corps (K-2nd reading), to provide our students with opportunities to be true change agents and contributors to our community.

We invite you to stop by or contact our school at 902-9800.

Sincerely,

Mrs. R. Cerda- Castañeda

Queridas Familias:

Bienvenidos a la Escuela Comunitaria Bilingüe de H.W. Longfellow.

Sinceramente,

Sra. R. Cerda-Castañeda
