Greetings Humboldt Park Families and Friends,
Welcome to the Humboldt Park School website, and thank you for visiting. Please check here often for updates and information about our school. Let me begin by sharing how honored and humbled I am to have been chosen as the principal for this wonderful, multicultural learning institution. My goal is to forge strong and collaborative relationships with staff, parents and community members in an effort to provide the best educational experience for our children, as it truly does take a village to raise a child. I want to give parents an opportunity to have a voice in their child(ren)’s education, and will be working diligently on increasing our parental involvement. In addition to attending parent-teacher conferences in the fall and spring, I invite parents to join our School Engagement Council (SEC), and to take advantage of volunteer opportunities within the school and within your child(ren)’s classrooms.
As the new leader of Humboldt Park, my vision for this school is to foster an innovative learning environment where students feel safe to explore new learning. I envision classrooms where students are encouraged to think creatively and analytically (i.e., outside the box), and to have fun while doing so. In order to prepare students to function in our ever-changing technological society, technology will be infused into all of the core academic subjects, giving students an opportunity to stay abreast of the current trends in technology. In the classrooms, students will be actively engaged, and will work collaboratively with their peers to solve complex problems. The classroom is the most important place within the school, and as an instructional leader, I plan on devoting quality time every day in the classrooms. Students will have a clean and safe environment, and will be treated with dignity and respect by staff and peers. One of the unique characteristics of Humboldt Park is its diversity. The faculty and staff here at Humboldt Park take great pride in recognizing, respecting and celebrating every culture and ethnicity. As the principal, I will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to make Humboldt Park a place where students are excited to come each day, and have a sense of belonging and purpose.
Parents and guardians, thank you for giving us the opportunity to partner with you in educating your child(ren), and for entrusting your children to us. I am very thrilled and optimistic about the new school year, as well as the coming years. Here at Humboldt Park School, students and staff are on time, on task, and on a mission!
Here’s to a successful year of growth and enjoyment!
Ms. Graham, Principal
