In June and July, the district will send enrollment buses throughout the city to enroll children for the 2018-19 school year. Milwaukee families will be able to learn about the quality educational options for their children and enroll students from the comfort and convenience of their own neighborhood.
Part-time teaching is a new option that offers a great work-life balance for retirees or teachers balancing family and career. A limited number of positions are available. MPS also offers a track to a teaching license for individuals who meet specific criteria, including those with a bachelor’s degree looking to make a career change. Representatives at the Career Fair can provide details.
Principals and school leaders will be on site to offer on-the-spot interviews. Candidates should bring several copies of their resume. Selected candidates will be moved directly onto a pre-employment track that will require additional documents, background check, and other steps.

Students and staff showed off their wide range of talents at Honey Creek’s Annual Variety Show. Thank you to Ms. Montemurri as she retires; she helped to produce the Variety Show for the last 20 years. We closed the Variety Show inviting all our retiring teachers to accept the challenge of breaking a board “Taekwon-do” style!
On Friday, June 1st, Honey Creek students, staff, family and friends gathered to close out a successful fundraiser; raising funds for school sponsored family enrichment and student experiences. We raised $8,300. WOW!
Honey Creek students and staff were blasted with color, threw a color party, enjoyed popsicles, and celebrated a job well done.
Congrats to the top 2 teams: Red (Ms. Cherry & Mr. Mudge) and Yellow (Ms. Trudeau & Ms. Islas).
Thank you to all family and friends who sponsored our students. Kudos to all the volunteers that make events like this possible!
MPS Superintendent recently visited Honey Creek School. Dr. Posley took the opportunity to tour Honey Creek, visit the classrooms and engage in the student’s learning activities.
Staff, students and parents gathered to recognize students that are members of Honey Creek’s Accelerated Reading 100 Point Club. The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take a comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level. Fifty-five students earned over 100 points and were rewarded with “Lunch with the Principal” at Old Country Buffet. Collectively Honey Creek students passed 11,818 tests this year, a record number for Honey Creek’s 25 years of using the Accelerated Reading Program. Congratulations to our hard-working students; they set reading goals and achieved them!
Our 4th year in a row…Honey Creek is being recognized as a 2017-18 Title 1 School of Recognition for “Beating the Odds”, low income schools that have higher than average reading and mathematics scores. It is our children and HC’s champion team that makes this kind of success possible!
Students and staff will show off their wide range of talents at Honey Creek’s Annual Variety Show on Thursday, June 7 at 12:45pm (PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE). Hope to see you there!
