Staff, students and parents gathered to recognize students that are members of Honey Creek’s Accelerated Reading 100 Point Club. The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take a comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level. Thirty-six students earned over 100 points and were rewarded with “Lunch with the Principal” at Old Country Buffet. Collectively Honey Creek students passed 10,338 tests this year, a record number for Honey Creek’s 23 years of using the Accelerated Reading Program. Congratulations to our hard-working students; they set reading goals and achieved them!
