All MPS families are encouraged to read the Parent/Student Handbook on Rights, Responsibilities and Discipline before the start of school. This annual publication details many MPS programs, student and family rights, and the MPS Code of Conduct. Important information for athletes is also included. Copies of the book were mailed to MPS families in early August. Printed copies in English are available at all MPS schools. Auditions for HAIRSPRAY JR. will be held at Riverside University High School on Tuesday, June 13 from 5:30 - 7 p.m. Come prepared to sing (anything!) and read from the script. All are welcome regardless of experience level. This is a NEW Summer Musical Camp organized by First Stage and MPS. Rehearsals take place Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from June 26 - July 28, 2017 (Lunch included; no sessions on July 3 & 4). MPS is launching a districtwide uniform policy that will begin with the start of the 2017–18 school year.

Milwaukee Public Schools is launching a districtwide uniform policy that will begin with the start of the 2017–18 school year. The new policy implements school uniforms for all students in all district schools. A few schools have declined the uniform policy. Parents have the option to excuse their children from wearing uniforms by requesting and filing a form with the child’s school. Milwaukee Public Schools no longer required to participate in OSPP

Wednesday, October 12, 2016 MILWAUKEE (October 12, 2016) Milwaukee Public Schools is no longer required to participate in the Opportunity Schools and Partnership program, according to a letter released today by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The letter issued today informed MPS it will not have to participate in the program because the district is no longer in the bottom category in the state school report card.
