Hi! My name is Lee Anne Chappelle and I am very delighted to be a part of Hawley Environmental School’s teaching staff, which I have been teaching at since 2000. I currently teach the Five-Year-Old program and I have also had experience teaching Head Start for three year old children, K4, and 2nd grade. I am very proud of my work as a teacher in the Milwaukee Public School district for 24 years. My background includes a Master’s in reading education from Alverno College and Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certification from UW-Milwaukee. These experiences have greatly fostered my love of teaching children how to learn to read and helping them develop a love for reading. My background interests include music, culture and fitness. I started playing the piano when I was five and was an active member in band, playing the flute throughout high school and college. I love to use music to engage students in learning as well as nurture their appreciation. I also enjoy traveling and have been very fortunate to have visited 41 states and nine countries. These experiences have taught me a great deal about different cultures, which I have been able to incorporate into my teaching. Other hobbies include cooking, gardening, camping, running, and winter sports. I have a husband and two boys. Growing up in Wisconsin, I will always be a Packers, Brewers, and Bucks fan!
