MacBook Laptop Awards for Seniors
ACTION HIGH SCHOOLS: MPS Senior DNC MacBook Award Application May 21
Through a generous donation from the Milwaukee Democratic National Convention Committee, the Milwaukee Public Schools Department of Technology and Department of College and Career Readiness are thrilled to award 75 college-bound MPS seniors with a MacBook laptop.
Seniors wanting to be considered should submit an online application that demonstrates financial need and acceptance to a college or university along with a short video sharing their college and career plans.

Students can get assistance with their application through their school counselor or College and Career Centers advisor. Winners will be announced at the Senior Send-Off on June 7, 2021.

MPS scholarship information is on Xello and contained in the MPS Scholarship Google Folder. The folder contains event flyers, scholarship application materials, presentations, and the 2020–21 Milwaukee Public Schools Scholarships & College and Career Opportunity List. All the materials can be viewed, downloaded, and printed. Students and parents can visit the MPS Scholarships web page for additional resources on college affordability and meet with their school counselor and/or College and Career Centers advisor for one-on-one help.

Jacarrie Kicks for Kids Jordan Poole’s Academic All Stars Scholarship
- Jacarrie Kicks for Kids is currently accepting applications for the Poole’s Academic All Stars Scholarship. Applicants must submit an essay, college acceptance letter, and proof of on-campus housing enrollment or assignment. This documentation must be submitted along with your completed scholarship application. Click here to download application materials. Submit applications by June 1, 2021.
Milwaukee Urban League Scholarship
- The Milwaukee Urban League Laptop Scholarship is now open. Interested candidates must be accepted in a college or university for the fall of 2021 and meet the eligibility requirements of the Academic Excellence, Community Service/Leadership, or Character Turnaround. Candidate will need to submit transcripts and two letters of recommendations and respond to an essay prompt. In addition, all recipients must attend a celebration on June 11 or June 12. UWM Architecture Summer Camp
HIGH SCHOOLS: UWM Architecture Summer Camp
The UW–Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning offers an opportunity for students to experience architecture education through an architecture summer camp, which has been proudly offered for over two decades. This year, the camp will be fully virtual.
This camp is ideal for students interested in architecture, design, and 3D design technologies. Students in grades 9–12, including new high school graduates, will learn the basics of architectural design. This camp will meet virtually Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday from July 18 to 23 and Monday, Wednesday, Thursday from July 26 to 29, 2021. During this time, students will be presented with situations for which they will design an architectural solution.
Students will learn how to communicate their design ideas through models, drawings, text, and verbal presentation. Workshops will teach students how to use digital modeling tools, read architectural drawings, and document their work through 2D representation.

Math and Science Scholarships
REMINDER HIGH SCHOOLS: Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships – Due May 4
Applications for the 2021 Council of the Great City Schools-Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarships are now open. The scholarships are designed specifically for African American and Hispanic graduating seniors this spring who plan to pursue college studies in one of the STEM-related fields. Four scholarships for two males and two females — $5,000 each — will be awarded to two African American and two Hispanic students on behalf of the former NASA astronaut, physician and businessman, Dr. Bernard Harris. Deadline to apply is May 4, 2021.
