SEC Meeting Minutes
1/10/18 SEC MEETING
What is DAC? What do they do? The DAC thinks uniforms are a good idea, for example.
Uniforms- Not really enforced, small amount of students are wearing them now compared to the beginning of the school year
Parents have to travel to an out of state meeting in the summer, talking about past PC’s experience, not as informative for our specific demographics, it was a National Convention
Bldg. Cleanliness– Floor Captains- Staff tell them what’s going on- Who are they? Conditions of room? Staff are becoming complacent. Trying to keep up w/admin. Hard to keep up. Moving in the right direction w/cleanliness
Checklist for Bruno. Grid list. Check off if anything isn’t done. Lack of communication w/ engineer and the night time staff. Night staff is a service not through MPS. Lack of training? Lack of time? How often does the chart get given to Bruno?
Budget Carousel- 1/22/18– Our wishlist, what are we doing now, what do we hope to do in the future? SST, Principal, PC attend this meeting
Regional Monitoring Conference Visit- STAR Testing ( Reading and Math Gap Closures), Not here to help, here to monitor, they ask what we’re doing to close the gaps, STAR testing is inconsistent, difficult to monitor/gauge/gain progress, want to see that kids, even if they ae behind, are moving towards proficiency, they come 2x a year, they’ll make suggestions but will not meet w/people one on one, do not give suggestions/resources for teachers, it is an hour(may up to a ½ day)
School Calendar Survey- Parents do not understand what they mean (At least not fully), it is about logistical topics, district-wide survey, sent to elementary schools, start in EARLY AUGUST
Climate Survey- Watch out for it coming out, encourage families to turn it in
Budget– Not at the carousel, maybe in February or March we’ll receive it, will discuss at the February or March SEC Meeting
