All MPS families are encouraged to read the Parent/Student Handbook on Rights, Responsibilities and Discipline before the start of school. This annual publication details many MPS programs, student and family rights, and the MPS Code of Conduct. Important information for athletes is also included.
Copies of the book were mailed to MPS families in early August. Printed copies in English are available at all MPS schools. Copies in Spanish are available at MPS schools with a bilingual program. The book can be accessed online any time in Arabic, Burmese, English, Hmong, Rohingya, Somali and Spanish.
This book is the best source of information for families to be informed about behavior and discipline, attendance, student records, transportation, winter weather, and family supports. Read more about this handbook at mpsmke.com/rights.

Milwaukee Public Schools is launching a districtwide uniform policy that will begin with the start of the 2017–18 school year.
The new policy implements school uniforms for all students in all district schools. A few schools have declined the uniform policy. Parents have the option to excuse their children from wearing uniforms by requesting and filing a form with the child’s school.
The policy sets basic uniform guidelines that apply to all Milwaukee Public Schools. The MPS districtwide uniform consists of khaki-style/uniform pants that are tan, navy blue or black, and polo shirts in black or navy blue. Students may also wear school-specific colors and styles that have been approved by the principal and School Governance Council.
Families can purchase uniform clothing from any store or source of their choice. A list of suggested vendors along with information about school-specific uniform colors and styles is available at each school and by visiting http://mpsmke.com/uniforms.
For additional questions or concerns, families can contact their child’s school. Families who wish to opt out of the uniform requirement should contact the school directly to complete the necessary forms.
Our final PBIS incentive trip for the year was a success! The kids and staff had an absolute blast at Kinderberg Park on June 2nd, 2017. Check out the photos below!
