Fernwood Adolescents visit Marquette and UWM to meet with the various departments for educational tours and workshops in such areas as bio-medical engineering, civil engineering, composition, poetry, physical therapy, history and computers.
Junior Achievement of Wisconsin
Fernwood also has a strong partnership with the Junior Achievement of Wisconsin program, which inspires and prepares young people to succeed in a global economy. The mission of this program is to ensure that every child in the state has an opportunity to obtain an understanding of the free enterprise system.
Students have participated in Youth Corp Service Learning Projects at several YMCA camps.
Several businesses have provided donations and discounts to support Fernwood Students’ Service Projects. Business people and tradesmen regularly visit the classes to provide career information and guidance for the students.
