Thank you for visiting the Carver website! Carver Academy is a traditional K–Grade 8 school nestled in the beautiful Brewers Hill Neighborhood. Scholars enroll from a variety of neighborhoods across the city. Although we hail from different communities, we form our own identity rooted in inquiry and community building. We call it The Carver Way.
Every day we strive to create meaningful learning experiences for our scholars. This is accomplished through rigorous academic instruction. We also provide every scholar with individualized instruction during our daily What I Need, or WIN time. We are committed to our mission of inspiring learners today and leaders for tomorrow.
School uniforms add to the academic decorum at Carver Academy, therefore wearing school uniforms daily is the expectation. All scholars K-8 wear navy blue pants, carver logo navy blue polo shirt with black or navy belt. Lady scholars may wear blue skorts, skirts or navy jumpers and gentlemen may wear navy shorts when weather permits.
Carver is proud partners with City Year, Teach For America, Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee Partnership Foundation, SPARK, Brewers Hill, Mount Zion, Boys and Girls Club, Interfaith Tutoring, and GE Foundation.
There is exciting news for the upcoming school year. The GE Foundation announced the funding for a digital fabrication lab to help inspire and prepare Carver scholars for a STEM-driven and innovative future. The lab is set to open for the 2020-2021 school year.
The GE Innovation Labs will serve as a place for Carver students to learn, create, play and invent utilizing problem-solving skills, teamwork and tools for authentic problems. Local businesses will be invited to share some of their product challenges for students to solve.
The lab will be at least 1,000 square feet and filled with new equipment including: a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, multiple 3D printers, CNC router, graphic design software, soldering station, multiple types of saws, and sanders.
Seats are still available.
