Rights of Parents – Special Education
If you believe your child may have special education needs, you have the right to have him/her evaluated. You may request an evaluation by contacting your child’s teacher, the school psychologist, or office staff. Parents, guardians, and other interested persons may contact the child’s school in order to obtain more information about the evaluation process.
Additionally, all students who currently have an Individual Education Program (IEP) or those who are currently being evaluated, also have additional rights and protections. For more information, please contact your child’s school to be directed to someone who may assist you.
