School Dietary Manager
All students are eligible to receive a breakfast at no charge. Any student who wants a breakfast should report to the school cafeteria upon morning entry. Breakfast is served between 7:15 a.m. and 7:35 a.m.
All students are eligible to receive a school lunch at no charge. Parents/guardian who want their child to purchase a second meal, additional menu items, and/or milk a la carte may choose to set up an account at www.MyPaymentsPlus.com. The child may also give the money to his or her teacher.
Additional milk costs $.40. The choices of milk are 1%, fat-free chocolate, skim, and Lactaid (a medical form must be on file for a student to receive Lactaid).
Students may bring a cold lunch. If they choose not to eat the lunch provided by Burdick, we encourage students to bring a nutritious bag lunch.
School Lunch Eligibility
The Milwaukee Public Schools district, which includes Burdick School, participates in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), which means that all students at 156 MPS elementary, middle and high schools will be able to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge, regardless of family income.
Participating in the program provides the following benefits:
- Ensures that all students can receive healthful school meals, regardless of income.
- Minimizes the time students spend in line and maximizes the time they spend eating.
- Reduces paperwork.
- Establishes a pre-payment option for a la carte, second (student) and adult meals.
Burdick parents do not have to submit a meal benefits application. However, families will be asked to complete a simple, alternate survey form for the district which will be used to determine eligibility for fee waivers and other educational benefits.
