Welcome! As Principal, it is a privilege to serve the students, families, and stakeholders who comprise the Burdick community.
Burdick School was built in 1925 and is located on the far southeast corner of Milwaukee, approximately four blocks north of Mitchell International Airport. Burdick has a long tradition of being a thoughtful and culturally-sensitive school that has emphasized educating the whole child. In addition to the rigorous core curriculum, we offer classes in art, music, physical education, and trade and technology. We also offer instrumental lessons as well as the opportunity for students to join the school band. When the school day ends, students can be part of a variety of extracurricular activities including basketball, forensics, soccer, softball, volleyball, and scouting. We also offer unique clubs for students, such as the Mother-Daughter Book Club, Father-Son Book Club, and Girls on the Run.
Burdick has an excellent staff. Many of our teachers have advanced degrees and all staff members are dedicated to the well-being of each student. Burdick has been at the forefront of some exciting educational innovations driven by the ingenuity of the teachers. Burdick was one of the first schools in the nation to have a completely digital grade level and is currently becoming a leader in environmental sustainability, both in and out of the classroom.
I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Burdick community in this capacity. I am available at any time to answer any questions regarding our school, as well as tell you about the great things that happen at Burdick. I can be reached by phone at 414-294-1205 or via email at kubicema@milwaukee.k12.wi.
