The Burdick Blue basketball team remains undefeated at 3-0 after a victory over Maryland Avenue Montessori School 31-19. Damien Johnson and Leo Berger each scored 8 points while Emmanuel Cruz added 7 points. Matthew Risser controlled the boards and Jayson Hernandez applied defensive pressure on Maryland’s best player.
The Burdick Gold basketball team lost against a taller and talented league-leading Wedgewood team. The younger Burdick group continues to improve each week against the older competition in this league.
The Burdick 6th-grade basketball team was the victim of little practice time due to bad weather and dropped a 29-10 decision to Wedgewood. Burdick looks forward to a potential rematch in the title game.
The Burdick volleyball team saw its unbeaten streak come to an end, though the Panthers still took two of three sets from Morgandale. Burdick won the first set 25-21 behind the excellent floor play of Payton Homar and Joshua Barndt. Burdick dropped the second set 25-16, but played hard and made excellent volleys. Burdick finished strong, winning the third set 25-19, propelled by the excellent play of Hazel Merced and Leo Berger.
