Aurora Health Care launched a paid training and Youth Apprenticeship program designed for students looking at developing a career in building maintenance.
BT students are being interviewed for opportunities to work at St. Luke’s Hospital and learn from the trades professionals what it’s like to work in HVAC and other areas of building automation.
MATC also provided our candidates and their families a chance to see the high technology learning lab which provides a technical certificate or associate degree in various areas of HVAC.
Students graduating from MATC with only a one year certificate were told by employers that included Aurora and Northwestern Mutual that a starting wage is at least $40,000. Those with 10 years of experience in HVAC and complete their two year associate degree can expect annual incomes of at least $75,000 and to work toward expectations of $100,000.
