Two motorcycle Build alumni, Jon Encarnacion and Yuan Smith, each received $500 scholarships from Markel Insurance Corporation during the bike auction at the Iron Horse Hotel on Aug. 30.
The two students were very active in the design and building of two motorcycles that Bradley Tech entered in competition during the past two years.
Mark Hoedel, who works at Markel, has been our Build mentor, personally helping students design and build the two vintage motorcycles for show and race competitions. Mark is racing Tech’s bike at the Daytona Speedway this fall, before it returns to Tech and will be displayed until the next project begins in January.
