Welcome to the Parent Page!
As a 95th Street School family, you will have many opportunities to engage with your child and other families at school. We hope you will feel compelled to volunteer in your child’s classroom, chaperone field trips, volunteer at bake sales and book fairs, among the many other opportunities to share your time. We are fortunate to have a very involved group of parents who work to make this school the best in Milwaukee!
Please stop by the new Parent Center (in the library) to visit with Mrs. Brown and share your suggestions about what you as a parent would like to see happen at 95th Street School in the school year.
95th Street School has a strong PTO. We meet once per month, usually on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Our PTO sponsors many events throughout the school year. PTO funding covers the cost of important school events such as Family Game Night, Skate Night, the Spring Dance, class field trips, Teacher Appreciation Week, Donuts for Moms, Donuts for Dads, 5th-grade completion, etc. If you are interested in becoming a PTO member or would like to volunteer at PTO sponsored events, please send an email to email@example.com.
School Engagement Council (SEC)
Every school has a School Engagement Council (SEC) that enables parents, staff, students (when appropriate), and the community to work together in facilitating quality educational plans that engender continuous improvement of student achievement.
The purpose of a School Engagement Council is to provide a forum for parents, teachers, community members, students and principals to work together in providing continued analysis and improvement of public school policies, curriculum, school improvement plan goals, and general student well being.
At 95th Street School, our parents are consulted in school decisions such as the annual budget and staffing. Additionally, the School Engagement Council meetings are the place to get more detailed information about our school test scores, GEF updates, curriculum, PBIS initiatives, field trips, and the School Improvement Plan. As a parent, you are invited and encouraged to attend School Governance Council meetings whenever possible to be knowledgeable about what is happening in your child’s classroom at 95th Street School. The School Engagement Council Meetings precede the monthly PTO Meetings. The SEC meetings at 5:30 p.m. on generally on the third Tuesday of each month.
