- Focusing on students who follow PBIS expectations, K4-K5 students from Lancaster decorated a Christmas tree at Cathedral Square Park. Their sponsors, Schlitz Park and the Edge condominiums graciously supported the school's efforts. This project was developed by Ms. Bennett, speech therapist, Ms. Stegman, school psychologist, Mrs. Wills, K5 teacher, and Ms. Moncada, K4 teacher.

- Amare, 3rd grade, Siefert Elementary School- Figure silhouettes with
color families
- Crystal, K-5 Siefert Elementary School- Students created the image of
a fall tree using three different art making techniques! Mono Print,
drawing and painting.
- 2nd grade students at Siefert Elementary studied the famous "Blue Dog"
paintings by New Orleans artist George Rodrigue. Students then created
their own Blue Dog, a landscape collage background, and an artist
statement explaining how they made their work along with information
on Rodrigue.

- It's home to some of the city's hottest galleries, boutiques and dining spots -- and through this Thursday, Milwaukee's Third Ward plays host to the stunning artwork of a 10-year-old Milwaukee Public Schools student. Fifteen pieces by Hartford Avenue University School student Claire Hanel are on display at Verduras, 181 N. Broadway, a tea house and cafe that regularly hosts art. "We support the arts and having our daughter's artwork up is just a thrill for her as well as for us," said Lisa Hanel, mom to the MPS 5th-grader and a teacher in the district. "We're obviously very proud -- both my husband and I are." Claire Hanel is equally enthusiastic, saying, "I love art. It is a way I relax and it's fun! I think I want to be an artist or art teacher when I grow up." Claire’s artwork was introduced to Verduras after the gallery owner's mother spotted it on Lisa Hanel's Facebook page -- and she showed it to the owner.
- This is Community High School student Pachia Yang's AP studio art work - so far. Community received the last year of a federal 3-year Advanced Placement grant and put it to good use. As a result of the grant, CHS students can take Advanced Placement Studio Art, Government and Politics, Literature, Composition and Biology.
