Neighborhood meeting set to provide South Stadium construction update

MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Public Schools will host a meeting Tuesday evening to update neighbors on the construction at the district’s South Stadium site.140623_south_stadium

South Stadium, which has served the community for 90 years, is being demolished and replaced with a more modern facility.

The meeting is set for Tuesday, June 24, at 6:00 p.m. at Hayes Bilingual School, 971 W. Windlake Avenue, Milwaukee 53204, which sits next to the South Stadium site.

At the meeting, neighbors will be able to see architect renderings of the new stadium, ask questions of the architect and see examples of the type of artwork that will be displayed on the stadium’s exterior fencing will also be shown. Arts @ Large will be working with MPS students to create mosaics for the site.

In addition, neighbors will be able to learn more about the possibility of permits for community uses at the stadium when not in use for district athletic events.
