Week of Warmth

The Milwaukee Fire Department will deliver coats to nearly 4,000 students in nine MPS schools this week. This morning, MFD Assistant Chief Gerald Washington and MFD union president Dave Seager joined MPS Board of School Directors Larry Miller and Mark Sain to kick off the “Week of Warmth” with a delivery of coats to students at Pierce Elementary School. Milwaukee Bucks mascot, Bango, was also there to hand out pairs of tickets to a Milwaukee Bucks game.

Last year, MFD donated 1,000 new coats to MPS students as part of the “Coats for Kids” campaign. Help make sure all of our students have a winter coat this year by making a donation to Coats for Kids.
