MPS educators honored

In honor of American Education Week, the Milwaukee Teachers Education Association and Milwaukee Public Schools hosted an “Educator for a Day” at Greenfield Bilingual School this morning. As part of the event, local artist Tia Richardson and MPS Director Claire Zautke were among those paired with mentor educators from the school.

MPS Superintendent Gregory Thornton thanked the Greenfield – and all MPS – educators for the work they do every day to increase student achievement. Wisconsin Education Association Council President Betsy Kippers and MTEA President Bob Peterson also joined in thanking educators. National Education Association Secretary-Treasurer Becky Pringle presented a check to support Greenfield School’s library to Principal Adalberto Salas-Barreto.
