Service project helps MPS families

Students in Mrs. Hummel-Dosmann’s class at MacDowell Montessori Schooldeveloped a community service project to provide Thanksgiving turkeys for some MPS families. They took orders every Friday for a month and then prepared coffee, tea, and homemade baked goods for staff.

The students talked to the manager of Metcalfe’s Sentry about the project, and the store sold them turkeys for $0.49 a pound. Last week, they were able to purchase 17 twenty pound turkeys and give them to families at MPS’ Lloyd Barbee Montessori School.

Mrs. Dosmann’s class thanks MacDowell staff and Metcalfe’s for their support. [More photos…]
