Hopkins Lloyd Community School participated in the Lindsay Heights Academic Olympics at Milwaukee College Prep – Lloyd Street Campus in June. HLCS won 1st place in the 4th Grade category and Milwaukee College Prep – Lloyd Street Campus won 1st place in the 3rd Grade category. The competition consisted of three rounds of math problems that relied on individual knowledge and the ability to work as a team.
The Lindsay Heights Academic Olympics is sponsored by WINS for Children. All participants had the opportunity to be tutored in Mathematics to prepare for the competition. Students stayed after school and worked during recess to be ready. This event is also supported by a variety of volunteers.
