Our most precious resource in Milwaukee Public Schools is our children. Our budget focuses on them and providing every opportunity we can to help them succeed. We look forward to your thoughts and ideas as we work together for our children.

Milwaukee Public Schools’ online budget survey showed that additional art, music and physical education specialists continue to be a top priority for our families. We are listening. The budget proposes doubling the per-school specialist allocation for most of our K-5 and K-8 schools. Keeping class sizes as small as possible is another top priority and tough-but-necessary actions taken by Milwaukee Public Schools to reduce costs ensure that more dollars are flowing into classrooms.
We continue to seek your input. Public input will be welcome at Board Strategic Planning and Budget Committee meetings tentatively set for April 30, May 7 and May 16 as well as the statutory budget hearing tentatively set for May 21.
The meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at MPS Central Services auditorium, 5225 W. Vliet Street, Milwaukee 53208.
